This route begins at Evans Creek Road Trailhead and runs 0.7 miles east to the Meherrin River Bridge. The Meherrin River Bridge is the longest bridge on the Tobacco Heritage Trail and the underside of the bridge is accessible by two waysides on each end of the bridge. From this route you can also see Evans Creek shortly after you leave the trailhead. Note this section is closed during deer hunting season (late fall/winter).
