Sidney Harris Burke is from Gretna, Virginia, the daughter of Kent (Robert Kent of Chase City) and Lou (Anna Lou of Elkton) Harris. She is the wife of Edwin Neil Burke, Benchmark Community Bank Chief Financial Officer, they live in South Hill, VA with their two sons, Parker and Brady. 

Sidney is a Biology Major, received her BS from Bridgewater College and has worked since graduation for Dover Brook Associates ~30 years in the Low Acid Aseptic Food processing industry as a microbiologist.  After her boys were born she began part time work from home for the company. She also worked part-time as a middle school 6th and 7th grade science teacher for 6 years at First Christian School where she was able to share and foster a love of science and nature.

She is an avid hiker, runner, painter, paddleboarder, and nature lover.

She completed her VMN certification in 2022.
