Program Topic: Planting Virginia Natives

The Southern Piedmont Master Naturalists will be hosting a public program about Virginia native plants on Tuesday, February 18th from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Want to learn more about planting VA natives in the southern piedmont of Virginia and what resources are available to learn more? Do you want to be involved in promoting VA native planting? This presentation will include an overview of the “Plant Virginia Natives” Initiative, including regional native plant marketing, and what our community-based partners and volunteers can do to help. The speaker, Virginia Witmer, is coordinator for the Plant Virginia Natives Initiative comprising 10 “campaigns” – and regional plant guides (PlantVirginiaNatives.org). Ms. Witmer is currently the Plant RVA Natives campaign coordinator. Everyone is invited to attend this exciting program. No RSVP required. Location is the Southside Regional Library at 1294 Jefferson St, Boydton.
