Paul DeLaney, of Bracey, earned his Bachelor's degree in Biology from Glassboro State College. Throughout his diverse career, Paul has worked as a marine field biologist, a chemical lab technician specializing in homogeneous catalysts, and a pilot plant technician, where he contributed to the development of clean-burning coal through solvent-refined processes.
For 41 years, Paul pursued a successful career as a pilot, flying single-engine and multi-engine airplanes and helicopters for companies such as USAir and LabCorp.
Currently, Paul volunteers as a Trail Steward at Occoneechee State Park in Clarksville, VA, and participates in the Lake Gaston Aquatic Vegetation Survey, identifying invasive plant species in the lake.
An avid outdoorsman, Paul enjoys hiking, boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, and rowing. He completed his Virginia Master Naturalist (VMN) certification in 2023.
