Programs and Outreach Committee

Emily Jones is an active member of the Programs and Outreach Committee with the Southern Piedmont VA Master Naturalist Chapter. As a VMN Emily enjoys volunteering with VA State Parks, VA DWR, and assisting fellow chapter members and basic trainees with interpretive programming. Becoming a VA Master Naturalist has allowed Emily to invest in her curiosity of the natural world and be around like minded people focused on learning and conserving our environment.  In her day job, Emily is a Natural Resource Specialist at John H. Kerr Dam & Reservoir (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) with over 4.5 years’ experience as an Outreach Park Ranger managing partnerships, coordinating the water safety program, and facilitating educational programs for groups of all ages. By focusing on connecting people with nature Emily has been able to put her MA in Natural Resources & Sustainable Development (American University & University for Peace), BS in Environmental Studies, and BA in Civic Innovation (Emory & Henry College) to good use. When not working as a park ranger or volunteering as a Master Naturalist Emily enjoys traveling with her friends, gardening, stand up paddle boarding, and hanging out with her cats.
